# Creating a Task Template

<mark style="color:$danger;">screenshot</mark>

The creation form contains two main tabs:

**Info**

* Name: the display name of the task template.
* Category or Project: choose if the template belongs to a category (e.g., Finance, HR) or a specific project.
* Default Priority: set the default priority for tasks created from this template.
* Default Assignee (optional): a preassigned employee or group responsible for the task.
* Description: detailed instructions or purpose of the task.

**References**

* Here you can link the task template to a specific object type (e.g., Contracts, Employees).
* Each reference includes a reference name and an optional default value.
* These references enrich the task with context when it is used in workflows.

{% hint style="info" %}
A task template does not create actual tasks. It’s a model used in workflow design.

Task templates inherit access rights from their assigned category and group.
